Travel Oriental Mindoro

A unified tourism platform with accommodation and tour booking, digital payments, a real-time analytics dashboard and multi-language support.

Client: Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro Sector: Tourism & hospitality Implemented: 2020
Project overview

What was implemented

A destination is a set of businesses the province does not own. The platform gives visitors one place to find and book accommodation and tours, gives operators a channel, and gives the provincial tourism office a real-time view of activity it previously had to collect by survey.

The challenge

Before the project

Tourism activity was spread across independent operators with no shared booking channel. Visitors had to find and contact each operator separately, payment was handled differently by each, and the tourism office had no timely view of visitor numbers or booking patterns across the destination.

Our solution

What ITDC delivered

We built an integrated platform covering accommodation and tour booking, digital payments with multi-currency support, a real-time analytics dashboard for the tourism office, and multi-language content for international visitors.

Key features

What the system does

Accommodation booking

Search and booking across participating accommodation providers.

Tour booking

Tour and activity booking alongside accommodation.

Digital payments

Payment at the point of booking, recorded against the reservation.

Multi-currency

Pricing and payment in more than one currency for international visitors.

Multi-language

Content presented in more than one language.

Analytics dashboard

Real-time view of bookings and visitor activity for the tourism office.

Technical architecture

How it fits together

A layer-level view. We do not publish hostnames, addresses, credentials, firewall rules or topology detail for systems in production.

Outcomes

What came of it

Each outcome carries the label that describes what kind of claim it is. We never present a target as a measured result — see our claims policy.

Measured Result
Accommodation and tour booking

Visitors book across participating operators from one platform.

Measured Result
Real-time analytics dashboard

The tourism office sees booking activity as it happens rather than by periodic survey.

Measured Result
Multi-currency support

International visitors transact in their own currency.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

The destination. Independent operators list on it, but accommodation and tour booking, digital payments and the analytics run at the destination level — which is the point, because no individual operator has any reason to build the shared booking channel that visitors actually want.

Through the platform rather than by emailing the tourism office. Central maintenance by one office is where destination platforms fail: listings go stale within a season, visitors stop trusting them, and operators stop supplying updates that never seem to appear.

A real-time analytics dashboard covering what visitors view and book. For most provincial tourism offices this is the first reliable interest and arrivals data they have held, and it outlives any individual campaign.

Multi-language support and multi-currency digital payments are both part of the platform, which is what makes it usable by an arrival who does not read Filipino and does not hold a local card. Both have to be designed in rather than retrofitted.
